Finding out what kind of project your area needs can be a really useful activity. Even if you already have a project in mind, it can be really helpful to find out what sort of activities your community could benefit from.
‘Researching your project’, from Volunteering England, can help you think about what needs your community has that you could meet, what skills would be needed to go about it and even an introduction into thinking about how to finance your project.
This guide was originally written aimed at students who want to start a volunteering project, but we think that loads of the advice would transfer really well to anyone who wanted to start a group in their community.
