Reasons for being involved
- Because we want to help tackle and prepare for climate change
- Because we recognise that climate change is linked to our work on environmental and social justice
- Because we want to be part of third sector action on climate change
- Recently completed a successful eco-technologies program which involved numerous adult learners, regarded as ‘hard-to-reach’ in workshops ranging from ethical textiles, calculating carbon footprint, alternative currencies, computer recycling, local food, permaculture and tailoring individual carbon reduction action plans. The net result was a dynamic reduction of their carbon footprints by between one sixth and one quarter within the 10 week program.
