Hello, my name is Damon, I am one of a group of Winsford residents getting organised. Winsford in Cheshire has suffered years of bad planning and as a result a poor image and identity as well as a lack of aspiration in much of the community. A key piece of town centre riverside land is for sale and we aim to pull together as a community to make it into something we can be proud of that helps improve the towns identity, create a positive life centre and encourage water bound tourism. We are forming a Community Benefit society to buy an develop the land according to the wishes expressed and voted on by members. We are investigating Community Right To Build and Community Land Trusts, we are interested in finding ways and learning from the experiences of other communities who have taken the driving seat with local developments.

    Hi Damon

Thanks for introducing yourself and welcome to Just Act!

We’ve just moved your post into a new thread to make it more visible to more people. It sounds like you’ve got a lot going on!

Does anyone in the forum have any experience of Community Right to Build or Land Trusts that they can share, or any top tips for getting started? It would be great to hear from you here.
