Kasia – that’s really interesting to hear, have others found the same when using volunteer centres?
Could it be to do with people not "identifying" as volunteers? Or perhaps a worry that it’ll be a burden?

Following on from my post above, we found that people were very happy to be volunteers. Having said that, they were all drama students form Hull Uni, as Assemble Fest is a theatre festival. Targeting specific groups of people who can really connect with your event is a good way of going about it. Offering them a small incentive, even if it’s just a cuppa, can work wonders; plus taking photos of them so that they feel part of the team really helps too. Also, if you post the pics on social media and tag them (or ask them to tag themselves), you’ll have a much wider digital reach.
