Hi Amber – I think that’s right. Groups sometimes seem to think that if their project will make a difference to the world, that’s enough to see them home, when it doesn’t.
You need to have a plan for how you will find these people, how you will communicate with them and what will you say to them to help convince them to get behind you (Si Walker can probably say some more about where rewards fit into that strategy).
People would love for their to be a magic bullet to finding them, but there isn’t, and in most projects, the people behind it are experts in their area, and so if they don’t know where to find such people, then they might not exist – yet! That then becomes the challenges before betting the funding is to get the crowd on your side.
