Groups who undertake a Community Right to Build need to win the support of the community if it is to be passed at a referendum. This is a lot like the process for Neighbourhood Planning. In fact the CRTB process works really well if you use incorporate it into a Neighbourhood Plan, though you don’t have to. The CRTB process can take time and effort, but it brings real benefits – and you don’t need to ask for planning permission from the local authority.
