Agreed policy and procedure for free loans to staff for public transport season tickets ( to be recovered from salary payments)
Instructions by steps
Discuss with staff group and managagement for in principle agreement
Draw up detailed proposals, guidance notes and forms
Formal proposal agreed by Committee/management
Tips & warnings
Liaison with admin / finance who will have to administer this
Initial examples of potential savings for staff generated interest - especially if worthwhile for people who still need to use their cars for part of their work
It took quite a while to go back and forth between staff group and committees
Checking the likely loan advances are reasonable for organisation's cashflow - We set a ceiling that would cover local public transport tickets
Check the amount is a resonable monthly amount to recover from salary payments
Agreement includes organisation's right to recover any amount outstanding when somebody leaves
