The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the independent regulator of health and adult social care in England. They make sure health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, caring, well-led and responsive care, and encourage care services to improve. They monitor, inspect and regulate services to make sure they meet fundamental standards of quality and safety, and publish what they find to help people choose care.

Your information is valuable as it helps to decide when, where and what to inspect.The information is used when inspecting health and adult social care services to make sure that they are meeting the fundamental standards. If they are not, CQC take action against those responsible.
CQC want to encourage the public to share their experiences of care with them, as this information is valuable in helping to decide when, where and what to inspect.One strand of work is to raise awareness of the CQC through volunteers, as they tend to be community-minded people who may be in a position to see examples of care and feed back.
