Is your organisation now at a crossroads with grant funding about to run out, and you’re not sure where to turn? This event will allow you to network with potential funders in a marketplace environment, to learn more about the different types of funding that are available, and to get good advice on how to apply.
This is a FREE EVENT – but you need to book your place here
As traditional funding sources such as central and local Government grants become scarcer, voluntary and community sector organisations are looking for innovative ways to finance their projects. There is a diverse range of revenue sources out there, but projects may not know where to start looking. This event, jointly hosted by the Department for Communities and Local Government and Power to Change, will give projects an opportunity to meet the Funders.
There also will be a chance to hear from a funding provider about what funders look for in projects, and from a project that has succeeded in identifying alternative finance and diversifying its business model, as well as from Government Ministers. We want to raise the awareness of alternative/social finance and generate debate on the issues and opportunities facing both community groups and social funders.
On arrival you will be able to register for afternoon workshops including:
– An introduction to social finance
– Blending it: different finance models
– Becoming investment-ready
– Diversifying the business model
– Evaluation: measuring outcomes
– How to write a business case and funding application
There will also be plenty of time to network and refreshments and lunch will be provided.
