Volunteering opportunities for the police

If you are passionate about community safety and want to make your area a safer place to live, did you know that there are a variety of volunteering opportunities available with the police? You may know about the special constabulary, the force of trained volunteers who work with and support their local police for a minimum of four hours a week. But there are other opportunities too.

For example, Police Support Volunteers (PSV)s are citizen volunteers who perform tasks such as front counter services and following up crime reports, to complement the duties performed by police officers and staff.  And Street Angels, who work in towns and cities across the UK work to address some of the issues around the night-time economy in town centres on Friday and Saturday nights.
