How to start a Community Amateur Sports Club

A Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) is a legal structure for groups that run sports activites in their community. There are a few conditions you’ll need to meet and then you will be eligible as a group to claim some handy tax reliefs, including the right to claim gift aid.

Your club must:

  • be open to the whole community
  • be organised on an amateur basis
  • have as its main purpose providing facilities for, and promoting participation in one or more eligible sports
