The Big Lottery Fund have put together a short information sheet that will help you identify need in your area.

It might sound a bit like jargon, but “identifying need” is a term that describes a problem or an issue, that your community project will try to address. Even if it might sound a bit formal for a small project, it can be a really useful thing to think about, both while you’re planning your project and later applying for funding.
